DETOX DIET FOR YOUR FINANCES
–Co-branded Cost-Cutting Bootcamp to Provide Women with Tools
to Get Financially Fit in 2011

NEW YORK — LearnVest.com, an award-winning personal finance website for women, and Real Simple, the award-winning Time Inc. lifestyle brand, today announce a partnership to launch a co-branded Cost-Cutting Bootcamp, a free, comprehensive 15-day online email program designed to provide women with the best tools to get fiscally fit just in time for the new year.

Much like starting a new diet regimen or physical fitness routine as part of a New Year’s resolution, LearnVest & Real Simple’s Cost-Cutting Bootcamp is a cleanse for your wallet. Starting on December 20th, 2010, users can sign up to subscribe on RealSimple.com or LearnVest.com to begin a 15-day, cost-cutting email program packed with crucial information and important daily tasks to help users get organized and accomplish their financial goals. The bootcamp offers readers Real Simple solutions for the best ways to trim their home budgets and rethink unnecessary expenditures room by room.

The bootcamp will launch on January 3rd, 2011 when the first action-oriented email is delivered straight to the subscriber’s inbox and will continue every day for two weeks. LearnVest & Real Simple’s Cut Your Costs Bootcamp is designed to show users that living within their means doesn’t require cutting out all the creature comforts of home, but it does mean spending less than they make. Bootcamp topics range from “how to negotiate a lower cable bill” to “how to save money on car insurance” and everything in between.

“Women, by and large, hold America’s purse strings as seventy million 18-50 year-old women control eighty percent of the household financial decisions, that is an exceptionally powerful audience,” said Alexa von Tobel, personal finance expert, CEO and founder of LearnVest.com. “On the heels of one of the biggest recessions in 80 years, women are much more aware, engaged, and actively involved in managing their money. We are excited to partner with Real Simple to create this fun, hip financial detox program to provide women with trusted tools, guidance, and expertise that will enable them to take better control of their finances.”

“What better time to get your finances into shape than at the beginning of the year?” said Shannon King, General Manager, RealSimple.com.  “Our partnership with LearnVest will enable us to provide even more of the robust, smart, actionable solutions our audience relies on, with a special focus for organizing one’s finances and saving money in 2011.”

Separately, on December 20th, LearnVest.com will launch three more comprehensive online programs: Getting Out of Debt Bootcamp, Personal Finance Basics Bootcamp, and Investing Bootcamp.
